Dr. Bruce Hugh Dorman holds a PhD in pathology from the University of North Carolina and an MD from the Duke University School of Medicine. For over 25 years, Dr. Bruce Hugh Dorman has leveraged his MD as a board-certified anesthesiologist and researcher with a focus on cardiothoracic anesthesiology. Throughout his career, he has worked to stay current in his field as a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA).
In addition to both in-person and online educational activities, SCA members have access to other learning resources, including several publications. The available publications include both academic journals and society news updates.
SCA members who also hold membership in the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) receive print and online versions of Anesthesia and Analgesia. As the official journal of IARS, the publication covers various topics, including several that are of interest to SCA members. SCA/IARS joint members also receive the IARS-sponsored OpenAnesthesia, which features education resources for anesthesiology residents and physicians.
Other publications available to SCA members include A&A Case Reports (the companion e-journal to Anesthesia and Analgesia) and the SCA Newsletter. Published six times per year, the SCA Newsletter is a resource for SCA news, as well as literature reviews and features covering anesthesiology best practices. The newsletter is available to members both online and via email.
All SCA members also receive a special subscription discount on the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia. More information about the discounted subscription and all the publications available to SCA members is available at www.scahq.org.
